This is very easy to use predefined template for video banner.

User experience

A user opens a page and sees the Standard video banner in the placement. Video starts playing automatically once the user enters the page, with sound off by default and the banner is covered by semi-transparent overlay. When the user rolls over the banner, the overlay disappears and sound is increased gradually. On roll out, the sound and overlay are gradually returning to initial stage. The banner accommodates a link to the predefined landing page.

Creative assets

The following items are to be delivered by a creative agency:

  • In case the browser is very old and doesn't support HTML5, the backup image (PNG/JPEG) is required.
  • Banner assets containing manifest.json file and HTML file zipped together with images, scripts and other material.

NOTE: manifest.json file and HTML file should be in the root directory of the .zip file.

Manifest.json file

  • Manifest.json file should define the ad dimensions and the HTML file which is used as a banner source.
  • HTML file should include Adform HTML library which enables the banner to receive a clickTAG variable:
    <script src=""></script>


Video file specifications:

  • max video length 30s
  • recommended video resolution 1270x720
  • recommended video weight up to 3MB
  • poster image

HTML5 Studio

  1. Open the banner template in Adform Studio HERE.
  2. On the first panel, change the name of the banner and landing page and hit Save button
  3. When it's done, click on File browser tab and than open the panel with additional assets and replace default video file and poster file with your branded video and poster image.
  4. Then the format is done and ready to be used in your campaign. You can either export .zip file with your banner or if you work in Studio logged in, you can upload the banner directly to your campaign.

NOTE: In order to make the banner work, do not adjust any other settings.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to run this format in your campaign, you have to manually set the device targeting to Desktop only.
