Table of Contents

This is a very easy to use Floating template with video.

User experience

A user opens the webpage and sees the predefined area of the webpage flipping over and revealing 800x700 ad content displaying a video. Once the video is over, the ad flips back and the website returns to its initial state. Alternatively, the user can close the ad anytime on “Close” button click. The ad accommodates a link to the predefined landing page. The ad maintains this size until the “Close” button is clicked and can be called back only on page reload.

Creative assets

The following items are to be delivered by a creative agency:

  • Video player needs a MP4/WEBM format video (640x360) (it is recommended to have more than one video file type). You can set card backgrounds just assigning image assets.
  • A poster (640x360) for the video, if there will be a video wall (the wall will be black before playing the video if no poster will be provided).
  • Banner assets containing manifest.json file and HTML file zipped together with images, scripts and other material.

NOTE: manifest.json file and HTML file should be in the root directory of the .zip file.

Customizing the banner

The file “index.html” can be adjusted to customize the banner components.

NOTE: In order to use Adform components for HTML, it is necessary to define global preloadQueue array, where you push all the wanted components to preload before script execution and to load Adform.DHTML.js

How to change settings

Open index.html file and define breakPoints array ([1370, 1024] for CorriereDelloSport) then setup bannerWidth array (CorriereDelloSporrt Home [558, 642, 736], CorriereDelloSport Calcio [558, 390, 484]) and bannerHeight array (CorriereDelloSport Home [314, 361, 414], CorriereDelloSport Calcio [314, 220, 272]). You can then edit animation speed changing transitionTime value (it's intented in seconds) or animation appearance editing perspective distance (a smaller value makes the card wider while turning).

Self Positioning

The card can change its position sticking itself to page elements. You just have to set a Custom Variable named "divClass" or "divId" assigning to it the element class name or id name. Please notice that loading asynchronous elements (like a wallpaper or an expanding element) can make self positioning fail.

INFO: Please refer to the Video Player component for more detailed information on component setup and behavior.

Manifest.json file

  • Manifest.json file should define the ad dimensions and the HTML file which is used as a banner source.
  • HTML file should include Adform HTML library which enables the banner to receive a clickTAG variable:
    <script src="https://s1.adform.net/banners/scripts/rmb/Adform.DHTML.js"></script>

  • Landing page URL opens in a new window.
  • Close button position: top-right.

  • Available on user initiation only (click). Off by default.
  • Maximum volume level must be reasonable and user friendly.

  • Auto-play/Auto-close.
  • Video duration: 30 seconds max. Replay allowed with user initiation.
  • Close/Play/Pause and Full-screen buttons are required.
